Question of the Week

A refused Visitor Visa and what to do next?

Category: Visa for Australia

Question asked

Hi,

I am an Australian Citizen. I had applied for Visitor Visa under visitor stream for my brother's family (Brother, Sis-in-law, 2 nephews - 4 in total). I had provided brother's Employment Letter, payslips , kids School Enrollment letter, brother's Leave Letter, brother's bank statement, My payslips, my bank statement and invite letters and cover letters. But Immi has refused the tourist visa for all 4. (Sis-In-Law is not working and she is a housewife)

What are my options now?

Can I apply under "sponsored family stream" again for all 4 of them? Will that be any different as I can promise to deposit an amount as bond? I have attached visa refusal letters for my brother and Sis-In-Law.

Answer provided by Migration Agent

Dear C.

Unfortunately a lot of visitor visa applications are being refused especially from China processing centre.

Read more about it: Visa refused?

You can lodge a new visa application under family sponsored stream.

You do not need to pay any bond upfront, however the case officer may ask for a bond money.

Under the family sponsored stream, the condition of "No further stay" will be imposed which means they cannot apply for any further visa after arriving in Australia.

Please feel free to get in contact if you need any further assistance.

------ Clarification Request ------

They will be genuine visitors and I don’t mind the "No Further Stay" Condition. What are my chances of success if I re-apply under "sponsored family" stream? Will that stream have more chances of approval? Is there anything extra that I need to do?

Clarification provided by Migration Agent ------

Yes, that stream will have more chances compared to the tourist stream.
