Student visa sc 573 towards sc 190 PR directly - saving money on Post Study TR visa

Category: Visa for Australia

Question asked

I am currently studying BMLSC at CDU, NT and my visa is subclass 573.

I am going to finish my course soon and results are on 05 Mar 2019. While my visa expires on 15 Mar 2019. I want to apply subclass 190 through NT. The skilled assessment is done by AIMS and it takes time to do so and looks like the time is not enough. Are these remaining 10 days going to be enough to apply through skilled nominated visa subclass?

I don’t want to waste money on Post Study TR visa, if it is possible to apply skilled nominated subclass 190 within those days.

Answer provided by Migration Agent

Dear M.

To answer your question regarding if the remaining 10 days are going to be enough to apply for the skilled nomination.

The normal migration skills assessment through AIM process takes up to approximately eight (8) weeks from the time of receipt of the application if no further information or clarification is required. The Express assessment process takes up to approximately eight (4) weeks from the time of receipt of the application if no further information or clarification is required.

The migration skills assessment would need to be completed and you would need to receive a positive skills assessment outcome before applying for the subclass 190 visa.

As it is already the 25/2/2019 and your visa expires on the 25/02/2019 you would not have enough time.
I am happy to clarify the above if you wish.
