Question of the Week

How to upload documents in your ImmiAccount when you cannot meet the request for more information from DHA?

Category: Visa for Australia

Question asked

Hello,

I applied with my Australian partner for the partner visa 820/801.

It has been already looked at and they are asking me for 3 more things by the 9th of March 2022:

1) Strong evidence of de-facto relationship (residing together), financial aspects of the relationship, nature of the household, social aspect of the relationship, nature of the commitment to each other. Apparently what (or how) I have provided is not enough

2) Police checks for multiple countries for a middle name that was present on my hungarian passport that expired in 2018 but is not present in my current italian passport. I was born in Italy from Hungarian mother and Italian father, in Hungary I was registered as R. S. while in Italy T. became my middle name that can't be used in official documents. How can I get police checks for a name that doesn't show in any current document?

3) A copy of the birth certificate obtained after my birth in 1982. My mother is out of Italy till the 2nd of April 2022, I need an extention because she is the only one who can phyisically get that paper and send me a copy.

Thanks.

Answer provided by Migration Agent

Hello R.

The Department often makes requests like this. Perhaps your evidence hasn't been clearly labelled for them. I suggest getting out everything you have a separating it into the areas they are asking for and then uploading it in those sections. All photos should be clearly labelled and dated. All messages should be too. Detail the financial aspects - joint accounts, things bought together like furniture for example. Upload screenshots from your social media - photos that you have both been tagged in for example - even from friends accounts if you can.

The police checks, usually different names can be added to all police checks, so just get them re-issued with all the names.

Upload the receipts for applications of the documents requested.

Write a cover note explaining why the birth certificate will be delayed. However I just did a quick search for 'certificato di nascita online' - and I don't know which commune you lived in, but it might be also worthwhile looking into that as there seem to be a few different ways of getting a copy.

But failing that - explain why you cannot get it online and when you will be able to get it,

I hope this has helped. You may read more about applying for a partner visa in Australia.
