Category: 457 Visa
Question asked

I have taken two consecutive IELTS test and in the first one my Reading skill has been 6.5 and in the second one my Writing skill has been 6.5 the other skills all are above 7. Is it possible to get 10 points for that if I put both test together for lodging my PR process? The time between those two tests is two weeks. I'm a civil engineer and I want to apply for 189 subclass visa.

Faithfully yours,

Dear A.

Thank you for your inquiry. No, unfortunately you cannot combine the tests to achieve the desired result. The English language test results can only be taken from one test. If you require an English level of 'Proficiency' to meet your points requirement it will be necessary to re-sit IELTs. 'Proficient' English is a minimum of 7 on each component of the IELTs test (reading, writing, speaking, listening).
